Yes, I will support the Kansas Beta Educational Center project for 2024.

Year after year, our active members honor Kansas Beta’s legacy of excellence—a legacy you helped them build!

In 2023, Kansas Beta was once again named the No.1 Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapter in the nation (out of some 240 chapters), winning the John O. Mosley Award for fraternity zeal. Kansas Beta won this award in 2020 as well. The chapters’ spring 2023 and fall 2023 GPA were both above 3.5 with more than 25% of the membership receiving a 4.0 GPA.

The chapter is financially sound, with the chapter house full at 61 members living in and 110 members in total on the active roster. The current fiscal year will finish with a modest surplus. Rush is off to a strong start and the chapter house will once again be full for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.

Last fall, we shared preliminary plans to renovate and upgrade the basement of the chapter house, including a new Kansas Beta Educational Center. Many local chapters have recently created such educational study spaces including Delta Upsilon and most recently Farmhouse fraternity next door. See the enclosed rendering for an idea of how this project will enhance the utilization of the chapter house basement space.

INSIDE THE PROJECT:
The house corporation’s plans will provide ample space for our undergraduates to study and will serve as a communal space for chapter meetings, and a space for campus speakers and training sessions with appropriate audio-visual equipment.

A few of the features you can expect:

Significantly expanded study spaces

100-person capacity meeting area

Revamped gathering area for educational events and sports viewing

Upgraded flooring, lighting, technology, and furnishings.

OUR TIMELINE:
As a board, we reaffirmed our commitment to this project at our recent Spring 2024 meeting. Construction will begin as soon as the spring semester 2024 ends and will be completed before the men return to campus for the fall semester in August 2024.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
To execute the total project $200,000 is needed. So far, thanks to supportive alumni, we have raised $50,000 toward this project. Help us close the gap and raise the remaining $150,000 with a tax deductible contribution to the Kansas Beta Educational Foundation.

Each of us committed to a lifetime membership in Kansas Beta during initiation. Now it’s on us to ensure that membership still benefits undergraduates and alumni alike. Thanks for your continued support.
